Alliant answer: We have operators reaching out with this question quite often and our answer is always the same - soft pods. What the heck is a soft pod you ask? A soft pod is ground coffee inside a form-fitting filter in the shape of a small puck. Instead of being housed inside a plastic or aluminum capsule, soft pods are packaged inside of their own paper filter, which are each individually wrapped in ASTM D6868 Certified compostable film and then nitrogen flushed to displace oxygen and retain maximum freshness. The beauty of this platform is that once you’ve finished brewing, both the pod and its film packaging can be thrown directly into your compost bin.
